Scriptures On Fighting the Enemy The following are scriptures to use in fighting an enemy, be it the Devil, a demon, or anything else. The Attitude of Battle – Humility and Obedience to God “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” Proverbs 25:21 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 “If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them … you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give you peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.” Leviticus 26:3 “For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.” Deuteronomy 23:14 God’s Anointing for an Offensive Approach to Battle Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.” Luke 9:1 “And He called the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits … and they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” Mark 6: 7.13 “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” Matthew 10:1 “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:6 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 “Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, nor shall my sword save me. But You have saved us from our enemies, and have put to shame those who hated us. In God we boast all day long, and praise Your name forever.” Psalm 44:5 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 “It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on high places. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze … I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed, I have wounded them, so that they were not able to rise; they have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued under me those who rose up against me.” Psalm 18:32 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 “The Lord is my strength and my shield …” Psalm 28:7 “In the day when I called out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3 “O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. He will roar like a lion. When He roars, then His sons shall come trembling from the west …” Hosea 11:10 “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; the God of my strength, in Him I will trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my Savior, You save me from violence.” 2 Samuel 22:2 “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” Psalm 62:1 “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all of his bones; not one of them is broken.” Psalm 34:19 God Is the One Who Fights the Battles “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty Man; He shall stir up His zeal like a Man of War.
